Callao (Airport)
Airport and port. Generally, just a pass-through to get in and out of Lima — the surrounding area is not safe for casual sightseeing. Exceptions exist (La Punta, Monumental Callao) but only with a guided tour and a trusted operator.

- Use it mainly for the airport and logistics. The port area in general is not touristy and is not safe to wander without a guide. If you want to see Monumental Callao or La Punta, do it on a planned daytime visit with a trusted operator — don't improvise routes. Door-to-door ride-hailing or official airport services are the rule. Budget 50–70 min from the airport to Miraflores/Barranco depending on traffic. For very early or late connections, you're better off staying in Miraflores/Barranco and arranging transport than sleeping near the port.
