Chorrillos

More local and spread out, with family-friendly beaches (Agua Dulce) and spots like La Herradura and Morro Solar. Good seafood and bay views; less touristy, with safety that varies by area. Worth a day trip for beach or surf, but not recommended as a base.

⚠️ Day visits only, with a ride-hailing app. Avoid quiet areas and don't bring valuables.

About Chorrillos

  • A more local area, good for beaches and viewpoints. The best spots are close to Barranco (Malecón Grau) and toward Agua Dulce/La Herradura. During the day you can combine surfing and food with views of Morro Solar; at night take an app back and avoid long walks through poorly lit areas. For a simple visit: ride in to the beach or viewpoint, stow your valuables, and agree on a pickup spot before you need it. Pantanos de Villa (wetlands) is a good morning outing with a guide. Not recommended as a base for a first visit — services are spread out and safety varies by sector.
